Appointed to the Order of Canada, Mandy Rennehan is a Canadian entrepreneur, philanthropist and advocate for the skilled trades, with a strong focus on expanding opportunities for women and under-represented groups. As the founder and CEO of Freshco, she has built a successful construction and maintenance firm while investing in mentorship, scholarships and training initiatives that support the next generation of trades professionals. A compelling public speaker, Mandy shares her personal journey to advance inclusive access to education and career pathways in the trades.

Congratulations to Tanya Walker, Founder and Managing Partner of Walker Law, who is a recipient of the 2026 Martin Luther King Leadership and Community Award, presented by the Educational Foundation for Children’s Care, Inc. (EFCCC). The award recognizes leadership rooted in service, education, and community impact, reflecting the enduring legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Through her work at Walker Law, Tanya continues to demonstrate leadership that extends beyond the practice of law and into community service and mentorship.

Pisces Research Project Management is one of ten recipients of BMO’s Celebrating Women Grant Program 2025. Based in Nova Scotia, Pisces is an ocean project consultancy dedicated to eliminating the barriers that hold projects back. Working alongside researchers, governments, innovators and non-profits the Pisces team headed by CEOs Natalie Gilson and Dr. Melissa Weber, PhD to help their ocean initiatives succeed. BMO is also a corporate member of WBE Canada.


Congratulations to Rousseau Chocolatier, on winning two prestigious awards from The Academy of Chocolate in the UK, considered the global academy awards of artisanal chocolate. Co-founded by Julien Rousseau and Nathalie Morin, Rousseau’s Chocolatier is located in Halifax, NS and previously won two silver awards from the Academy in 2023. Rousseau’s “Nova Scotia Lavender” and “Summer Savory” Chocolates were the silver award winners announced in November. Making this recognition even more special is the fact that both confections include summer savory and lavender grown and sourced in Nova Scotia.

Huge shout out to Jenny Smith, President and Executive Creative Director of Ray Agency, winner of the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award at NLOWE’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Gala. Through her creative vision and leadership, Ray, launched in 2013, has become a standout agency known for innovation and impact. Jenny’s commitment to excellence reflects the drive and creativity powering Newfoundland and Labrador’s business community.
