Congratulations to Johanne McNally Myers, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, High Liner Foods one of The CEO Magazine’s 2026 Women of Influence honorees. The Women of Influence spotlight brings together leaders from across industries and geographies who are not only shaping business and communities, but also challenging what leadership should look like. In her role,  Johanne oversees High Liner Foods’ Human Resources strategy to drive a high-performance culture and employee engagement and ensures the Company’s HR programs support achievement of the Company’s business objectives. High Liner Foods has been a WBE Canada Member since 2023.

Kay Douglasand the entire team at Douglas Marketing Group (certified in 2014) are celebrating 35 years of growth and innovation. With 11 new recent awards — including a Platinum Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award and a Gold Graphis Packaging Award — DMG continues to demonstrate what sustained excellence looks like across Canada and the US. As President of Douglas Marketing Group, Kay brings both experience and forward-thinking leadership to the industry. From embracing AI and data-driven strategy to developing the proprietary Big Picture Landscape® system, DMG has consistently evolved while staying focused on delivering meaningful results for clients and communities.

Jennifer Commins, Founder and President of Pluck Tea was recently awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” by The Founders Club.  The award celebrates leadership, innovation, and, in some cases, a “balanced approach” to business and personal growth. Jennifer was recognized in particular for scaling her business through, and beyond the pandemic. Pluck Tea was founded by Jennifer Commins in 2012 with a mission to fix restaurant tea. Their teas are made in small quantities with great care at their facility in midtown Toronto to ensure excellence in quality and freshness.Today, the Pluck team proudly produce a wide range of hand-blended, top quality infusions, many made from locally sourced ingredients from Ontario, B.C., Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Congratulations to Alicia Phillips, CEO and Co-founder of Educated Beards, who was recently awarded New Brunswick Woman Entrepreneur of the Year! This award presented by Women in Business New Brunswick – Femmes en Affaires Nouveau-Brunswick recognizes Alicia’s outstanding contributions to New Brunswick’s business community through business excellence, innovation, strong leadership and her inspiring vision for the future of her company. WBE Canada Certified in 2025, Educated Beards, founded in 2017 by Alicia, a holistic nutritionist and her husband Kevin Leboeuf   is a premier destination for luxury, holistic beard care and grooming essentials.

Nominees for RBC’s 2026 Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards have been announced. This premier award recognizes Canada’s most inspiring and successful women for demonstrating excellence – from economic growth to social change, from local to global reach across multiple sectors throughout all of Canada.  Here are a few WBEs we’ve heard from. Anne-Marie Delauriers, Founding Partner of DELAN-IT Talent Solutions. With more than 25 years of experience in IT recruitment, Anne-Marie founded DELAN in 1997. With their head office in Montréal, the firm, certified in 2021 specializes exclusively in IT offering targeted IT solutions including permanent recruitment, consulting mandates and executive headhunting.

Erin Trafford, CEO, Executive Producer and Host  of Story Studio Network. Certified in 2024, Story Studio Network specializes in turning complex ideas into stories that captivate, resonate, and inspire action. With years of journalistic experience and integrity,  SSN works with clients including non-profits  looking for narrative driven media, podcasting and storytelling strategy.

Louise Brennan, CEO and Co-Founder, Candid Brewing Company located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and certified in 2025. Candid is a small family-run brewery believing in celebrating everyday moments that turn into stories.  Louise has been a leader in building resilient local economies – and is a rural entrepreneur as well.  She is active in water sustainability and an important voice in Nova Scotia.  

Shannon Boland-Musseau, Owner, One Day Affair Wedding and Event Design, located in Halifax, N.S. One Day Affair is an event company and venue specializing in event styling decoration and design.  Certifying her company in 2025, Shannon is highly regarded for her dedication to the City of Halifax, its corporate and charitable communities and was awarded 2026 Small Business of the  Year at the Halifax Business Awards held earlier this year.  

April Glavine is the Founder of Sum Good Foods, located in Moncton, New Brunswick. Sum Good, certified in 2025, produces fruit first hydrating freezies made from pressed fruit sourced entirely from local Canadian farmers. April is a sought after speaker, well versed in Team Building, Coaching, Fund-raising and Start-ups, and dedicated sponsor for over 30 athletic events across Atlantic Canada.
